The narrow back design was not recognized until a few years ago, and it looks like examples could be rather scarce, especially the stars. PCGS has graded only two stars with the narrow back in CU, and both are from Richmond. This is the finer example by several points. The PMG pop report shows no CU narrow stars having been graded at all. This could prove to be one of the rarest $20 FRN stars to be offered in years. The small size book shows a low observed star serial number for just five of the twelve districts, but in each case the narrow stars are unpriced in CU.
