A lovely, fresh, very fine example of the short issue silver certificate. Issued for the invasion of North Africa to be able to easily identify the notes in the event a substantial quantity fell into unfriendly hands. Initially these notes were not legal tender in the U.S. This note has been quarter-folded but is very fresh and with wonderful signatures.
