Since I wrote the following description in 2000, six more notes have been recorded. Previously described as, "During the last 30 years, since I've been watching brown seal Gold notes, they have rarely appeared. It is not surprising as only 14 are known, and four of those are in the government's collection. This note was last offered in 1982, and though it looks XF, it's not. It should bring an excellent price because the last one to sell was a pretty XF and it brought $44,000." In 2007 we sold a PMG 45 at $109,250 and several have been sold elsewhere. The estimate here is very conservative. PCGS notes an edge split.
