A handsome rarity among the state bank histories. This is only the second copy know to Sullivan to have changed hands in the last 30-years, this being the former copy in the David Davis library. Volume one includes an extensive history of early banks and currency systems and brief histories of 27 different Detroit banks. Volume two contains biographies of famous Michigan bankers. Two volume set.
