National Bank Notes > Kansas
Wyandot, First NB, 1840

Shortly after Quantrills Raiders had stopped raiding this area the Wyandotte National Bank was chartered (1871) just down the road about 20 miles or so. The town now is Kansas City, Kansas, part of Wyandotte County. This bank was very short-lived, liquidating in 1878, less than seven years after formation. This was one of the earliest banks to close in the state as well. The bank has four large notes reported but only one auction appearance more than a decade ago; this was that note. It has excellent penned signatures and is in very nice grade.
