The rarity of $50 and $100 Value Backs is staggering, to say the least, as there were only eight $50s and five $100s issued from both banks that issued these jewels. Currently there are six $50 Value Backs and two $100 Value Backs known from the Canal-Commercial National Bank of New Orleans. Each of the two banks printed around 1,000 sheets of each $50-50-50-100, with the Canal-Commercial Bank printing 57 more sheets, for a grand total of 8,228 notes. This makes 2,057 $100s and 6,171 $50s for the entire type, less than any major type I have heard about. Even circulation on this note and other than a bit of uneven wear along the top and bottom, it's problem free. Unfortunately the signatures are gone.
