Located along the banks of the Mississippi river, this community has been active since the earliest days of the Midwest. No doubt these trading days are responsible for this bank and this hoard of 1 and 2 that exist. There are approximately 70 $2 notes saved and this one has a history to 1950 or before. This note was used in the Prather State Seal catalog and came from Friedberg and through Dreger. This note has light handling probably weakening a corner but it was , no doubt picked for centering and the excellent pen signatures Nixon and Burton.
