An extraordinarily rare type for which new discoveries are few and far between. This new find adds to the previously recorded two dozen examples. Graded by PMG as a VF 25 Net, due to ink and professional restoration. That restoration appears to be confined solely to the outer edges of the note. Because of the fragile nature of the paper used on this series, virtually all the known examples have undergone some sort of repair at one time or another. Even with the Net grade, this note is in the top seven for condition. We last sold a Fine in November 2006 for $32,200 and a Fine 12 brought nearly $30,000 in 2007. There has been nothing available since then, so we expect considerable interest in this piece. The seal could be brighter but the rest of the colors are bold and not lacking any details.
