National Bank Notes > Indiana
Fort Wayne, NB, 865
Fr. 380 $1 Original
Grade:
VF/XF
This bank was chartered in 1865 and closed in 1885 after issuing First Charter period notes through the $20. This note is one of only four surviving examples. Although the trim is a bit uneven, the quality is high and the missing corner tip is not a big deal. This note is pen signed and attractive overall. In 2007 this cost $6,900 at Heritage but that market is no longer as active for $1 First Charters. From the George Fitzgerald Collection.
