St. Clair and Freedom are both populated places in the coal country of Beaver County, Pennsylvania. I must assume that this short-lived national bank (1909-1918) was located near the confluence of the two places and hence the bank title. If you know anything different please provide a story and I can adjust it. Kelly's 6th Edition showed just four large notes reported. This note has beautiful originality and quality, as well as the signatures of Schlecter and Ross. How can you ignore the irony of coal miners naming their town Freedom. I guess it's all perspective, may they always live it.
