This is one of the faintest 1862 $2 notes I have seen. It came from a 1997 CAA sale where it was sold as a Gem CU and realized $2,970 when Stanley Morycz bought it and sold it to this collector. I can see why it's not a '65' but this '53' is a great note for a smart collector as the centering and quality are lovely. Type 2 seal; face plate number at left.
