December 1, 1873. Although once considered rare, the sale of notes from the South Carolina state archives has made them plentiful. Issued in limited quantities to pay the state printer most were redeemed by the state. This note has a single cross cancel punch and a few light bends/folds. There is some writing on the face in red ink. Criswell CR #17.
