$100 1928* L San Francisco
Grade:
PCGS Apparent Fine 15
Only a small handful of 1928 San Francisco $100 stars are known. As recent research has now confirmed, most of the known San Francisco stars are in fact inverted star errors. While several inverted star errors have publicly appeared over the last 30 years, only a single non-error example has been offered in public auction. There are in fact a scant three non-error star notes available to collectors. Two of those three notes are held in long-term collections. With 1928 series "Numeral" FRNs being one of the most popular segments in small size collecting, this nice circulated example is likely the only one to be available to collectors for a long time. A very small split in the top margin is noted by PCGS.
