This lot is a testament to what opportunity and perseverance can do for a collector on a mission. When David Proskey started this collection, I wonder if he said I think I will have every person connected to the Treasury Department give me their autograph on a 3 Fractional note and see how many I can get in a lifetime. Never did he think he would be able to get so many people to join in this endeavor. Now well past a century later a new collector could choose to continue this amazing journey and see how many more could be added to this collection. This lot contains 54 issued notes with one narrow margin specimen, and two wide margin specimens for an unparalleled collection of 57 autographed notes generally grading from XF at the bottom to Gem condition at the top, virtually all appear uncirculated but how can you improve it. These are listed in Milton Friedberg's fractional book and virtually all are listed as unique, quite a statement for something there are 56 different varieties of, and the knowledge of their existence is from the John Ford/FCC Boyd pedigree.
