Grade: VF
The 1928-B mule star has always been recognized as the rarest star in the $5 legal series. In the 1980s, when Jim Thompson was building his world class collection of small size, the 1928-B mule star was the last hole he filled in that series. At the time, his VF was the best grade available of the five known examples. Since then, the population has about doubled, but the issue is still unknown in the uncirculated grade. This note is unmolested, bright and problem free. Easily as nice as the Thompson specimen.
