The Tradesmen's National Bank is one of several New York City banks that began in 1865 with a large issue of notes, but then couldn't survive much past 1900. This institution liquidated in 1899. Some 70 large notes are reported. A small group of uncirculated cut sheets on the $5s were saved, giving collectors an opportunity to add a pretty First Charter to their set. Clipped in at the top right and with a short margin tear.
