Founded as the Brownwood National Bank in 1892, it adopted this second title in 1919, as the First National Bank in Brownwood. By error, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing titled the bank as the First National of Brownwood on the notes. The bank issued high denominations only in small size, and just 314 sheets of Type 1 $50s were printed.
