Baltimore Franklin Bank 25c 1815

MD-75 G40. The Franklin Bank had its charter approved December 23, 1810. It was actually a quality institution, and was eventually taken over the Equitable National Bank of Baltimore in 1891. This is one of its earliest issues with printed date 1815. Apparently these were circulated unsigned/undated as small change notes during the financial crisis following the War of 1812. Rated R-7 in the Maryland catalog.
