Here is the presumptive Holy Grail for collectors of both this popular town and Rockland County in general. This wonderful serial #1 note is the earliest known note from Suffern, and the only Brown Back of any denomination. It is also just the second serial #1 Brown Back from any bank in Rockland County. Though likely carried around with pride by one of the bank officers, it is still a very attractive note with super bold pen signatures of J.F. Duryee, Cashier, and James B. Campbell, President. A real trophy note which only one collector will be able to add to his holdings.
