This sutler note was used by J.R. Bostwick, who also issued 10˘, 25˘, and 50˘ notes. Bostwick was known for his reasonable prices, however many believed that he still made huge profits. The printed red serial number adds to the eye appeal. This note was printed by A. Roen & Co. in Baltimore. There is a small stain in the upper left corner.
