January 3, 1838. A wonderful shipbuilding vignette is seen on this note that was a printed by the New England Bank Note Company. This bank opened and closed in 1838 and no notes were supposedly issued, according to Haxby. Full ink signatures and serial number. There is some ink bleed through.
