September 1, 1856. An unlisted proof note from this eastern New York town. This note has great margins and strong inks (what do you expect from a proof?) and has been punch canceled on the officer signature lines. The net grade is for a tiny tape repair on the back. This between the right punch cancel and the lower edge. The American Bank Note Company stamp on the back has bled through lightly to the front. Haxby NY-865, UNL50P.
