This is a very scarce and seldom available Cambria County location. Spangler was the site of the disastrous 1922 Reilly Mine Disaster in which 79 coal miners were killed. The town of Spangler ceased to exist in 2000, when it merged with neighboring Barnesboro to form the Borough of Northern Cambria.
