A complete set of currency issued by the George Junior Republic in the early 20th century. The 1˘ note grades VG while the others grade AU. This Republic was founded by William Reuben George, an American philanthropist, in 1895 as a self-governing colony requiring payment in labor for all that the citizens received. This colony has an interesting and varied history.
