A specimen check for the Georgia Railroad Bank, Augusta, GA. The check is dated 1892. There are two hole cancels and the ledger page has been cut off. There is a neat vignette of the original bank building at the upper left. This bank was organized in 1835 and issued obsolete notes. These notes have always been honored by the bank and could still be redeemed at face value as late as the 1980s.This bank is now part of the Wachovia Corporation.
