Goldfield Advertising Note Circa 1918
Grade:
XF
Advertisement for Union Feed Stables, John J. Diehl, Prop., on the back of a facsimile Confederate $10 note. Today a virtual ghost, Goldfield was the largest city in Nevada in the early 1900s. Blocks and blocks of substantial brick structures made this desert city an important mining center. Flash floods and fires decimated the city; today, little is left from the glory days. There are a couple of old staple holes at the left margin. A very rare location for Nevada advertising and the first we've seen.
