The bank was established in April 1900 and was obviously an outgrowth of the Banking House of L.L. Northup dating from 1869. In January 1923 the bank title was changed to the First National Bank of Iola. Large outstanding at the close was $13,556. This title has 15 large notes reported. The note has pen signatures of Front, President and E.J. Miller, Cashier. From the C. Dale Lyon Collection.
