Haxby MA-355-G12b Sept. 1, 1863. A beautifully engraved type that was first sold in the Newman Collection Part VI sale. Occupational titles have been collected traditionally by National Banknote collectors for decades, but this occupational title has a custom engraved, extremely wide view of an active wharf scene with a warehouse to the left and ships being loaded at the right. The note was fully issued, cancelled with some small punch holes in the signatures. The minor rust stains on back are a harsh critique for a note with this eye appeal. This originally realized $2,585 as lot 19120 in Newman Part VI auction in April, 2015.
