A wonderfully centered and fresh example of this much scarcer Fr. 1286a variety. The difference between this and the normal Fr. 1286 is that the back design doesn't have a shred of purple ink color, and therefore has a 'slate' appearance. We just saw one of these sell a couple of months ago, in the same PMG 64 grade, for $1,880.
