CT-130 1 Shilling March 26, 1761
Grade:
PMG Good 4 Net
An incredible rarity that should not be overlooked by anybody that fashions himself as a devotee of Colonial paper money. Any Connecticut note of a pre-1770 issuance is one of only a handful that can be recalled in recent years. We haven't sold one, Heritage hasn't sold one, and the only entry in Newman is a 40 shilling counterfeit sold by Stacks as part of the Ford collection, with that note bringing a four-figure price. PMG net grades this due to the note being backed and pieces sewn together with the bottom quarter or so of the note missing. The all-important coat of arms and the date are clearly visible. We are not sure what type of price this will bring but it would not surprise us to see it in the thousands.
