January 4, 1857. Really a rare example that we can hardly find any auction records for. Not to be confused with the commonly seen Bank of Mecklenburg notes or the other Bank of Charlotte black and white types that appear. This red tint variety is rarely offered and this $5 denomination appears to be particularly daunting, as the $10 note shows up on rare occasion. PMG net graded this due to some petty edge splits and minor stains that are present. A great note destined to land in the greatest of North Carolina obsolete collections.
