National Bank Notes > Texas
Houston, Lumbermans NB, S8645
Fr. 600 $5 1902ND
Grade:
F/VF
Houston isn't really thought of as being a lumber town, making this note quite the anomaly. It is also worth noting that the references call this bank the Lumbermen's National Bank, but it seems to have just represented one tree cutter, as its correct name is the Lumberman's National Bank! It changed its name to the Second National Bank in 1923. Fortunately, enough large are known to make these interesting notes available to collectors. Good stamped signatures.
