This recent discovery is a real miracle of survival - a nice circulated $1 Ed with low #80. It is believed that the first 100 notes of this type were used by U.S. Treasurer, D.N. Morgan, as presentation pieces. The few low numbers that have surfaced are often autographed by him and are in very high grade. Apparently, the recipient of this note decided to spend it. Fortunately for us, it is still very attractive and provides an opportunity for many low number collectors to get an example of this type.
