Rare is a term that auction catalogers often bandy about but in the case of this fractional invert it is most apropos. This first issue straight edge, no monogram note with inverted back was considered unique when Milt published the Encyclopedia in 1978 and it is still so today. This note was in the Friedberg as well as the O'Mara collections. It realized $1,610 in the O'Mara sale and we strongly suspect that it will do better this evening.
