Rare Uncancelled Paul Revere Copperplate Note

Grade:
PCGS Apparent Fine 15
On its own merits this is a highly desirable copperplate note engraved by Paul Revere, great Revolutionary patriot. It is amply margined with good printing quality although it has splits and has been backed. The note carries the appearance of a full VF. What is not mentioned on the PCGS holder is what makes this note so special. All of the examples this cataloger can recall having seen were either hole-cancelled or pen-cancelled over Henry Gardner's signature. This example has neither and is the only one we can locate in such a state. Newman lists this at $4,000 in Fine and $7,000 in VF but those are for pen-cancelled notes. We strongly suspect that this will bring far more in its present state.
