Continental Loan Office Bill of Exchange Second Bill $36
Grade:
PCGS VF 30 PPQ
This is absolutely one of the prettiest examples we have seen with the bright orange inks typical of these second bills. Not to be confused with the third and fourth bills of exchange which are much more common as a general rule. Signed by Treasurer of Loans, Francis Hopkinson, who was a signer of the Declaration of independence. Commissioned in Massachusetts for $36 and dated October 20, 1778. Serial #40 is quite low to be seen on one of these really cool Colonial fiscal items.
