This is the scarcer 1777 issue and it has superb centering, wondrous print quality and flawless paper. For whatever reason, the 3 Pence denomination is not seen nearly as often as the other small change denominations, particularly so in Gem grade. It has been some time since a high grade example has sold in this grade, and when they do it was around $1,400-1,500 in the weaker market of yesteryear.
