New York, Garfield NB, E2598
Fr. 477 $5 1882BB
Grade:
PMG Ch. Fine 15 Net
A better New York City bank which received its charter in 1881. A popular example due to the Garfield name in the title, as well as the recently slain president's portrait seen at left. A bank best known for its supply of Second Charter Date Backs with only five Brown Backs known, only two of which are the $5 denomination. PMG notes splits but with a note of this rarity these minor issues tend to be overlooked.
