Always a popular note due to the fact that Hawaii nationals are always coveted and it is also desired for its territorial status. Most examples that we come across don't have anywhere near the detail of this piece and they have clearly visible issues such as staining, tears, etc. PMG does mention a previous mounting and the nebulous term "retouched", although we have great suspicions about both of those assertions.
