A really magnificent example of an incredibly tough Type 2 sheet on this Allegheny County bank. Only fives were produced in small size and there are roughly a dozen Type 1 notes listed but aside from this sheet there is only a single other Type 2 note known. This sheet is listed in the census, as is the other Type 2 note, but neither have any associated grade and neither have seen daylight in public auction. While there is a tear in the top note above the letters 'CR' in 'Crafton' and a faint tip fold at the lower left that does not protrude into the design, the overall integrity is that of a Ch. CU sheet. The four middle notes are screaming Gems with bright paper, excellent color and hulking margins. It is hard to tell what a sheet of this magnitude might be worth on the open market but our vast experience tells us that our estimate is quite reasonable and even a bit conservative.
