Normally cut-out cancels are viewed very unfavorably but, when one considers the fact that VF/XF is an excellent grade for this type, for a Ch. AU example we are willing to overlook this minute fact. The paper is as fresh and bright as it was a century and a half ago and there is just some light evidence of circulation. Without the cancels the rather well-heeled collectors of this genre would carry it to a strong four-figure or even five-figure price. As it lays, it should be very well-received.
