Grade:
PCGS Apparent XF 40
A rare type that is listed on page 300 of the Newman Fifth Edition. PCGS notes small repairs and paperclip rust stain, neither of which are of particular detriment. Enormously margined and quite attractive. Per Newman "Small change notes issued in Dutchess County with printed signature of Edmund Per Lee, Treasurer. Printed by Nicholas Power at Poughkeepsie. Hand numbered. Blank backs." One of only three we have seen and far superior to the Newman plate note. The only other was a PMG VF 35 with splits that sold for $862.50 back in an anemic 2009 market.
