PCGS notes a center split tape repaired and backed. Who cares? This is a prohibitively rare Rhode Island issue from the 1770s from whence notes rarely ever appear. The note grades as a solid F/VF but it actually looks even nicer than that. It is whole and intact which is more than we can say for many of the examples we locate from this era. Newman pegs the value at $1,500 in Fine and $2,250 in VF.
