This railroad issued these attractive green and black 'fare tickets' in the years immediately after the Civil War as a way of getting around prohibitions against circulating privately issued paper money. A steaming locomotive is the vignette seen at left and this is one of only a couple of '68 PPQ' notes we have seen for this entire common issue.
