Pristine AU Yorktown Continental
Continental Currency
CC-73 $6 April 11, 1778
Grade:
PCGS Abt. New 53
A lightly handled example of this better low denomination Yorktown note. This is the scarcest of all the Continental emissions due to the early removal of notes resulting from extensive counterfeiting. Newman values this at $5,000 in CU. Most of the only higher grade notes have come recently from cut up sheets. The serial number is a cute ascending ladder. In 2015, the Newman note graded PCGS AU 58, nearly identical to the present offering, and sold for $3,290.
