National Bank Notes > Kansas
Holton, First NB, 3061
Fr. 467 $5 1882BB
Grade:
VF/XF
The bank was chartered in September 1883. In all likelihood, this was the predecessor of the First National Bank. This bank went into receivership in May 1931 due to 'incompetent management and local depression.' The large out in 1931 was $4,705. This wonderful $5 Brown Back is signed by T.P. Moore, President and J.B. Moore, Cashier. It's still the finest of the six large notes reported and the other $5 Brown Back is very low grade. It's been 11 years since even a Blue Seal has been offered. From the C. Dale Lyon Collection.
