All seven of Salem's national banks were chartered in either 1864 or 1865, and all but one failed by 1914. This bank survived until November 1909. That had to have been a tough year for banks in Salem as two others also closed in that same year. Fortunately, this wonderful Ace is still with us. One of only 10 notes on the bank. Absolutely gorgeous!
