Milford was home to numerous granite quarries, which provided the stone that was used in the pillars for the U. S. Treasury building in Washington D.C., as seen on our current $10 note. This presentable Red Seal comes from the only bank in town to issue nationals. Thirty large notes are in the census, but this is the sole Red Seal. The stamped signatures are too faint to read. This will be the first opportunity for the current generation of collectors to add this important Red Seal to their collection.
