There has only been a single addition to the census since I wrote the following description in 2000. "A nice, pleasing, well centered example of this very scarce, engraved, countersigned A.U. Wayan $20 Silver Certificate. Gengerke records show 15 notes, with four in institutions. Of those 11 examples there appears to be one or two AU notes. This note has been used for Hessler's illustration and has a pedigree back to Ossie and me in 1978. A rare type that collectors only see from great collections." In 2007 we sold a PMG VF 20 at $52,900 - the high mark for price. There has only been one offered since and it was a lower grade note with restoration. PCGS notes edge split restoration.
