Important 1907 $1,000 Gold Certificate PMG Ch. UNC 63
Large Size Type Notes > Gold Certificates
Fr. 1219e $1,000 1907
Grade:
PMG Ch. UNC 63
In a sale dominated by rare $1,000 notes it seems only appropriate to have found another extremely elusive type in a top grade. There are 32 serial numbers listed in the census in private collections, six of those are listed as CU from what may be a run of 12, but the others remain unknown. The facts are this - uncirculated $1,000 gold certificates are rare as rare can be and that other than the Fr. 1219e there are virtually no other 1907 $1,000s in UNC. The 1922 $1,000s just do not appear in UNC either, most have seen use. Families did not have the money to save one in the Bible for a rainy day. In a market where quality rules, this gold certificate should be an exciting part of Memphis. Graded Ch. UNC 63 by PMG.
